Who We Are

The Ontario Physics Hub was created by Maxximuss Cole-André, a teacher candidate at Western University, with the support of Dr. Grace Parraga, a lung-imaging scientist and professor in the Robarts Research Institute at Western University.

Our Vision

The Ontario Physics Hub aims to help Ontario become a global leader in elementary and secondary physics learning. The Ontario Loves Physics Initiative aims to develop a comprehensive physics resource tailored specifically for elementary and secondary students in Ontario using the Ontario science curriculum as a base. We have three main goals:

  1. 1. To design topics and discussions that will foster a deeper understanding of physics concepts, ensuring students build a strong foundation in the subject by using examples they can relate to and find interesting.
  2. 2. To prioritise inclusive education to ensure that all students, regardless of their background, abilities, or learning styles, have equal access to quality physics education.
  3. 3. To emphasize a student-centered approach and encouraging inquiry-based learning and critical thinking through real-world applications of physics, fostering curiosity and creativity.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create the tools, examples, and learning material needed to increase the number of learners excited about physics. The initiative is focusing on creating engaging and interactive learning materials including examples, videos, and hands-on experiments for students and teachers to perform.
